M-R Alpacas Ranch Inc. started in 2004 purchasing 3 bred females and we are pleased to say we have never looked back! We are proud to be apart of the infancy stage of the alpaca industry and excited about the fiber end of the business.
Our breeding protocol is to create the idea phenotype alpaca concentrating on density, fineness, luster, tight crimp, and perfect conformation and bite. We are blessed to own six males while three of the six are herdsires (Ari-Color Champion, Zepplin-Reserve Color Champion and Duke-Reserve Color Champion), our other three boys will hit the show ring in the spring.
We sell our little future herdsires very quickly, so take a peak at who we have listed. Our Partner, Mary DeVinitz is an Apprentice Practioner with Camelidynamics and does all the halter training for the farm.
Watch for Joy Mitchell in the show ring, see MRAR Michelangelo's Duke of Wakeman, he just took Reserve Color Champion (Joy is holding the lead.). Mary's training works, some call her the alpaca whisperer, we just say thank you for such a well-behaved show string, (there is nothing like a well behaved alpaca to get the judge's attention).
